This is a charming trail, popular amongst Shrewsbury locals for casual hiking and dog walking, but still little known and obscure. On a typical walk, you’re likely to come across only one or two other people, so the traffic is light. It’s beautiful year-round and is filled with positive messaging painted on stones strewn along the trail. We have taken this hike dozens of times. Beware of the parking lot in the winter – if you get stuck, tow trucks will refuse to pull you out, as happened to me. I had to wait two weeks for the compacted snow to melt enough to get my front-wheel drive car out on my own; we walked home the day it got stuck.
Features of this trail include QR-code markers that give more detail about each feature of the forest when scanned with a smartphone. There are two creeks, a bog, stone walls, and hilly terrain.
