This is Worcester’s biggest mountain. It has a huge variety of available walking trails, but whatever trail taken, the hike to the summit is steep and challenging. Ensure you wear good hiking shoes; some areas offer little grip. Mount Wachusett is the home of Worcester’s most popular ski slopes, so during the summer, you can hike right up the ski runs. The view from the summit is beautiful, even offering views of the Boston city skyline in the distance!

The trails are heavily trafficked, so it can feel as though you’re in a slow moving traffic jam. If you’re looking for seclusion and privacy, opt for a different area trail.
